JOB DESCRIPTION: |
To assist the Child Nutrition Department with all aspects of financial operations, personnel, compliance and cafeteria software systems. |
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss statements for each cafeteria.
- Ensure all food and labor costs are within established budget.
- Assist with preparation of annual budget.
- Assist with bid specifications.
- Enter requisitions for all food, equipment and supplies purchases.
- Report and investigate excessive overages or shortages in deposits.
- Communicate with supervisors and managers regarding issues with point of sale, production, inventory, grocery order, and student accounts.
- Establish and enforce policies for the internal auditing of Child Nutrition.
- Oversee audits for any schools having money handling issues, such as missing money, suspected theft, and not following proper money procedures.
- Develop manuals for training procedures for deposits, food ordering, point-of-sale system and back-of-house systems.
- Review school inventory to make sure the totals are correct for food and other expenditures.
- Oversee the training of managers in department procedures.
- Maintain the point- of- sale system and back- of- house software.
- Set up and maintain menu updates for all menu applications.
- Oversee assigned staff to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Oversee assigned staff to ensure kitchens are adequately staffed.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to office staff work schedule and hours.
- Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: |
- Leadership experience in food service industry
|
QUALIFICATIONS: |
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Accounting, or other related field (4 years Child Nutrition supervisory experience may be substituted for degree)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Ability to operate a personal computer
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with other staff and the school community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies
- Knowledge of computerized point-of-sale and back-of-house systems
